The music industry has lost a true pioneer. Alan Osmond, the eldest performing brother and the creative visionary behind the world-renowned group The Osmonds, has passed away at the age of 76. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that Alan was surrounded by his devoted wife, Suzanne, and their eight sons when he peacefully passed.

The Foundation of a Dynasty Born in 1949, Alan was the cornerstone of the Osmond family’s rise to international superstardom. At just 12 years old, he began performing in a barbershop quartet that would eventually evolve into a global phenomenon. As the group’s leader, Alan was known for his iron-clad discipline and songwriting talent, helping to craft the signature sound that sold millions of records worldwide.

Resilience Behind the Scenes Beyond the bright lights of the stage, Alan was a man of immense personal strength. In 1987, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite the physical toll of the disease, Alan famously adopted the motto “I may have MS, but MS doesn’t have me.” He remained a guiding influence for his siblings and children, focusing on production and songwriting when he could no longer perform.

A Lasting Legacy Alan Osmond leaves behind a legacy that transcends music. He was a dedicated husband, father, and a symbol of resilience for the MS community. While the world remembers him for the hits and the television specials, those closest to him remember him for his unwavering commitment to his family and his faith. He will be deeply missed by millions of fans across the globe.
