In a new post on his social platform, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his pledge to issue $2,000 payments to low‑ and middle‑income Americans, stating that the funding will come from what he calls the “massive” tariff revenue the federal government is now collecting. According to Trump, the government is generating substantial income from duties on imports from nearly all countries — revenue he says is sufficient to cover the payouts and still leave a surplus.
