White House physician provides details of Trump’s medical checkup, calling it “unusual” amid ongoing health questions

Donald Trump’s health is once again under the spotlight after a noticeable bruise appeared on his hand, seemingly covered with makeup. The mark sparked speculation, particularly following reports that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition affecting vein function in the legs. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10 for what she described as a “routine yearly checkup.”

However, this follows another physical he reportedly had in April—his second in 2025—raising eyebrows about the unusual timing. Presidential health historian Jacob Appel noted that multiple annual checkups aren’t common but “not unheard of” without a specific medical reason. Trump’s earlier exam included assessments of his weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, and mental health.....
