In the world of the ranch, reputation is everything. But as three local bulls recently found out, your “toughness” depends entirely on who just stepped off the truck.
The Stand-off Three bulls were discussing the rumors of a newcomer.
The Veteran (5 years): “I have 100 cows, and I’m keeping all of them. This new guy gets nothing.”
The Mid-level (3 years): “I’ve got 50 cows. I’ve worked hard for them, and I’m not sharing.”
The Rookie (1 year): “I only have 10 cows, but they are mine. I’m small, but I’m standing my ground.”
The Reality Check Suddenly, a massive 18-wheeler pulls into the pasture. The ramp lowers, and out steps a 4,700-pound titan. The steel groans under his weight. He isn’t just a bull; he’s a mountain.
Immediately, the tune changed:
The Veteran: “You know, 100 cows is a lot. I can spare 50 for our new friend.”....
