Take that 5, and add it to the next line: 5 + (2 + 5) = 12
Take that 12, and add it to the next line: 12 + (3 + 6) = 21
Finally, take 21, and add it to the last line: 21 + (5 + 8) = 34
Method 2: The “Hidden Multiplication” (Answer: 45)
This method uses a consistent formula for every line: a + (a × b). This is often considered the “stronger” logic because each line works independently:
