Neighbor’s Daily Visitor Sparks Fear Until Shocking Truth Revealed

The Day Everything Changed

For as long as Greta could remember, Dorothy had been more than just a neighbor. The 83-year-old woman had been a second mother, a confidante, and a steady presence in her life since childhood. After Dorothy‘s husband passed away, their bond deepened—Greta became the one bringing groceries, cleaning her home, and checking in regularly.

That routine shattered one Tuesday evening when Greta arrived with fresh bread and tea. Dorothy opened the door only halfway, her silver hair neatly brushed, her eyes unusually bright.

“You don’t need to visit anymore,” she said. “I have Alex now.”

“Who is Alex?” Greta asked.

“He’s a delivery driver. He brought me a package, and we fell in love.”

Greta waited for a smile, a joke—but Dorothy remained serious. Before she could respond, the door closed.

The Stranger Next Door

Two days later, Greta saw Alex for the first time. Barely twenty, dressed in faded jeans and worn sneakers, he smiled politely when he noticed her.

“You must be Greta,” he said. The fact that he knew her name immediately unsettled her.

Over the next two weeks, Dorothy vanished from sight. She stopped collecting her mail, ignored calls, and stayed indoors while Alex came and went—sometimes staying overnight. Soon, he was using his own key to enter her home.

Every time Greta called, Dorothy replied with the same short message: “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.” The responses didn’t sound like her. Normally, Dorothy filled texts with long stories and unsolicited advice. These were robotic, unnatural.

A Mistaken Delivery Leads to a Discovery

One afternoon, a package meant for Dorothy was delivered to Greta’s porch. She carried it next door, knocked, and called out—but no one answered. After waiting, she used the emergency key Dorothy had given her years earlier.

The house was eerily spotless. Too perfect. Too untouched. Neither Dorothy nor Alex were inside. Then, she heard faint knocking from the basement.

What Was Really Behind the Locked Door

Greta rushed downstairs, following the sound until she reached a storage room. Dorothy’s weak voice came from behind the door, but the handle wouldn’t budge. She threw her weight against it until the latch gave way.

Dorothy sat on the floor, her ankle injured, a tipped stool nearby. She had climbed to reach a high shelf, fallen, and become trapped when the door swung shut.

“Where is Alex?” Greta demanded.

“He went to the pharmacy,” Dorothy replied.

Seconds later, the front door slammed. Alex appeared at the basement doorway, his face pale. The pharmacy bag slipped from his hands.

“I was gone for twenty minutes,” he said, shaking.

“That was long enough,” Greta snapped.....
