When I became pregnant at 17, I quickly realized how much my life would change. While others focused on school events and future plans, I was learning how to balance responsibilities far beyond my years. Despite the challenges, I felt a strong connection to my children from the very beginning. Their father had promised support, but shortly after I shared the news, he disappeared without explanation. From that moment on, I understood that I would have to rely on myself to raise them.
The early years were filled with long days and even longer nights. I worked hard to provide stability, often putting my own needs aside to make sure my sons had everything they required. As they grew, their personalities became clear—one bold and outspoken, the other thoughtful and calm. We built our own routines and traditions, and over time, our small family became strong and resilient. Seeing them succeed in a dual-enrollment college program felt like a reward for years of effort and sacrifice.....
