The Mount Paran Christian School community is mourning the sudden passing of longtime Spanish teacher Angela Coleman, whose death at the age of 51 followed unexpected complications from the flu. Her loss has deeply affected students, colleagues, and families who remember her as a dedicated educator and a compassionate presence.
In response to the news, the high school campus closed for the day to allow students and staff time to grieve and support one another. Coleman had served at the school for nearly 15 years, where she was known for her enthusiasm for teaching and the strong relationships she built with her students.
Beyond the classroom, she inspired a love for language and culture, leading mission trips to Peru and encouraging students to broaden their horizons. Many former students have described her as a mentor whose guidance and kindness continued long after graduation.
School leaders have highlighted her commitment to faith, service, and education, noting the positive impact she had on the entire community. A celebration of life service is planned in her honor, and counseling and pastoral support remain available as the school comes together to remember her life and legacy.
