I’m having trouble breathing.” I turned and saw a visibly pregnant woman, her expression gentle but strained. Exhausted and irritable, I muttered a dismissive response.
She didn’t argue—she simply smiled faintly and placed her hands over her stomach. The rest of the flight passed in silence, but the weight of that moment stayed with me. After landing, I stood quickly, ready to leave it behind. As I grabbed my bag, I noticed she was still seated, moving slowly and clearly uncomfortable.
