No matter who you are, there’s nothing worse than experiencing the loss of a beloved pet. Even the biggest celebrities still grieve for their dogs and cats.
Now, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is mourning after the death of the pet dog Tessa 😢💔
On April 21, Holland, 27, shared a photo of Tessa, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, announcing to fans that the dog had passed away.
“Missing my lady ❤️,” the actor wrote in the caption.
Tom’s father Dominic Holland opened up about Tessa’s passing in his blog, calling her “truly spectacular member of my family” and “the only Holland who everyone loved all of the time.”
He wrote that Tessa was diagnosed with vascular cancer last July and was given a prognosis of four months. Tessa surpassed this prognosis and “gave us eight lovely months together” before she finally passed last month.
Dominic also wrote that the family has planted a special crab apple blossom tree in Tessa’s memory. They will also scatter the dog’s ashes there.
Tom Holland first introduced Tessa to the world in July 2014, when she was just a tiny puppy. “I would like to introduce to everyone little Tess. The newest member of the family,” Holland wrote at the time.
That was almost a year before Holland was first cast in his star-making role as Peter Parker, so Tess was one of the few who can say she loved Tom before he hit it big. She was by his side through his entire rise to worldwide fame.
And sometimes Tess even got to shine in the spotlight herself. She accompanied Holland to the 2020 premiere of Dolittle, where she stole the show on the red carpet, posing for photos with Robert Downey Jr.
Rest in peace, Tessa 😢💔 Our hearts are with Tom Holland and his family during this heartbreaking time.
Please share this story in memory of Tessa.
