THIS BABY ZEBRA WAS BORN WITH POLKA DOTS INSTEAD OF STRIPES

THIS BABY ZEBRA WAS BORN WITH POLKA DOTS INSTEAD OF STRIPES What’s cooler than a horse? A zebra. And what’s more adorable than a zebra? A baby zebra. And even more? A zebra baby with polka dots instead of stripes.  This spotted zebra baby has been seen in Kenya, and the Internet loves it.

The pictures have already gone viral and she also serves to solve the question of whether zebras are white with black stripes or black with white stripes.

Lemein, a wildlife specialist, told Daily Nation that it was the first time a polka-dotted zebra emerged in this reserve. It probably has melanism, which is the opposite of albinism.

However, he had bad news: No zebra with that condition has survived more than 6 months in African reserves.
The pictures of this zebra went viral According to scientists, zebra stripes are formed when there is an inhibition in melanin production, which means that the animal is probably black with white stripes and not the other way around.  But its stripes are not just for show. They help animals stay cool in the African heat, and there are theories that they help them camouflage themselves from potential predators and prevent disease-carrying insects from biting them.
