Chris, an eighteen-year-old working near a closed bike shop, noticed a Shiba Inu named Ollie waiting patiently by the glass doors every day.
Ollie wasn’t a stray; he was too well-kept, too calm. Locals said he belonged to Mr. Lawrence, the shop owner, who hadn’t been seen for weeks.
Chris started feeding Ollie during his lunch breaks, but the dog would always take the food and run off. Curious, Chris followed him one day. Ollie led him miles away to a locked, abandoned house. Inside, a starving German Shepherd, Max, was trapped. Ollie had been bringing food to his friend through a hole in the door.
Chris immediately called the police. They rescued Max and, tragically, found Mr. Lawrence’s body in a shed, revealing he had died suddenly, leaving his dogs alone.
Despite his girlfriend Mila’s initial reluctance about pets, Chris brought Ollie home. The next morning, Ollie was gone. Chris, fearing Mila had gotten rid of him, found Ollie back at the bike shop, still trying to help Max.
Once Max recovered, Chris and Mila welcomed him into their home too. Though hesitant at first, Mila eventually grew to love both dogs. What began with a simple sandwich evolved into something much bigger: two rescued dogs, a deep friendship, and a new beginning for a small, loyal family.
