Camryn Magness, a singer-songwriter who gained recognition touring with some of the biggest pop acts of the 2010s, has died at the age of 26 following a tragic accident in Miami Beach.

According to reports from People and TMZ, Magness suffered fatal injuries on December 5 after being involved in a collision while riding an electric mobility scooter. Miami Beach police confirmed they responded to an incident involving a scooter and a pedestrian at approximately 7:52 p.m. All parties were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where Magness later succumbed to her injuries.

Her family publicly announced her passing on December 9 through her official Facebook page, sharing a video of Camryn scuba diving—an image that reflected her adventurous nature and love for life. In their statement, they described her as a bright and compassionate soul whose voice and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Camryn’s mother later confirmed that the family will not be holding a public memorial service.

Born with a deep passion for music, Magness began performing at just eight years old. She first gained attention through YouTube cover videos, which led to touring opportunities with artists such as Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson. In 2012, she reached a major career milestone when she was selected to open for One Direction during their Up All Night Tour. She later returned as an opening act for the band’s Take Me Home Tour in 2013.

Her touring career continued in 2016 when she opened for Fifth Harmony on their 7/27 Tour. Over the years, Magness released several singles, culminating in her 2021 EP Love Maps, which marked a more mature and introspective chapter in her artistry.

Camryn Magness is survived by her parents, siblings, and her fiancé, Christian. She was 26 years old.
