Puppy was left tied to park picnic table in the rain — rescuers save him

It’s heartbreaking that anyone would be so cruel to abandon a puppy, but thankfully there are also kind people willing to step up and rescue these discarded dogs.

That was the case recently, when a poor puppy was left tied to a picnic table in the rain until his rescuer went out to save him.

Video from Stray Rescue of St. Louis shows a tiny puppy tied up to a bench in a picnic area of a local park.

The dog was alone, wet from the rain, and scared — the video shows him repeatedly yelping as if begging for help.

But a rescuer named Donna arrived on the scene and untied the little puppy, and he quickly warmed up to her, as if he knew he was safe.

“He was so brave when we first approached, but then as soon as we got in the Jeep he curled up on Donna’s lap and let out a deep sigh – that sigh said so much,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote.

“We got you, adorable little baby. We’ll get your sweet self ALL fixed up in no time.”

The rescue named the dog Wilbur. They discovered that he was “covered in ringworm,” and treated him with medical baths.

Days after the rescue, Wilbur was in a loving foster home. His foster mom told The Dodo that he was “doing great” and was a “snuggle bug.” “He wants nothing more than to be loved,” she said.

It’s not clear where Wilbur came from, but it’s clear he hadn’t been receiving the love and care he deserved. But now, the future is looking bright for the little pup.

“He’ll never have to be lonely or muster up that much bravery ever again,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote on Facebook.

Thank you for saving this tied-up puppy, getting him out of the rain and giving him a new start ,That look on his face shows that he knows he’s in good hands.
