My in-laws kicked me and my newborn out, and they soon regretted it

Hello, everyone! Mila here! Being a mother to a one-year-old keeps me busy, but nothing prepared me for the shock I recently received. Have you ever thought how you would feel if your in-laws kicked you and your newborn out of the house? This is exactly what happened to me.

Living with my husband Adam’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, first appeared to be a fine idea—until their frequent disagreements became more than just background noise. Their squabbles, which were often over simple matters like the TV remote, developed into screaming fights that could wake the dead, even my weary newborn.

One night, after a particularly difficult day, I quietly requested that they keep the noise down because the baby was sleeping. Mr. Anderson reacted angrily, insisting it was his home and he would not be silenced. He told me to go back to my mother’s house and that when Adam returned from his business trip, he would decide whether or not to allow us return.

I was stunned into silence as I packed our belongings and went for my mother’s house, feeling completely alone. When Adam found out, he was outraged and dashed back home to face his parents.

The following morning, we returned to the Andersons’ home. Adam attempted to reason with them, but they remained unapologetic. The situation gradually deteriorated, with my FIL even saying that if Adam did not follow their rules, he could have to leave as well.

Only a few days later, the doorbell rang. My father-in-law opened it to find two police officers on the doorstep. It turned out that Adam had reported them for evicting us from our own home, which he had purchased with his savings and in his name, a fact he had kept from his parents.

That evening, I received a call from my in-laws. They apologized for not realizing the house was in Adam’s name, but I clarified that their behavior was unacceptable. I informed them that they were no longer welcome in our home.

I felt relieved when I saw my infant sleeping peacefully. Despite the upheaval, we were finally at a place where we could feel safe.
