My Daughter-in-Law Offended Me—Until She Learned the Truth About Who I Really Am

Andrea, a 60-year-old widow, shared how her daughter-in-law, Jessica, often mocked and insulted her behind her son Robert’s back. Robert, a successful 30-year-old, was engaged to Jessica after dating for a year. “I was upset they got engaged before I even met her, but I kept quiet because Robert is an adult,” Andrea wrote.

Andrea quickly sensed that Jessica was more interested in Robert’s money than him. When asked if she wanted kids, Jessica laughed and said, “You must be joking, Andrea! I want to enjoy life, and kids would ruin it!”

Despite Jessica’s rudeness, Andrea stayed silent, hoping Robert would realize his mistake. However, a week before the wedding, Jessica insulted Andrea, calling her “uneducated and shallow” and even suggesting she skip the wedding
At the wedding, Andrea took a bold step. During her speech, she said, “As my son’s boss, I’m saying that I’m firing him. I don’t approve of his choice because his new wife has humiliated me many times.” The room was shocked, and Robert discovered how poorly Jessica had treated his mom.

When confronted, Jessica denied everything, but her rude remarks led Robert to call off the wedding. Now, Robert and Andrea work together at the family business, and Robert is dating someone new. Andrea just wants her son to be happy.
