Math can sometimes feel like a foreign language for young students, full of numbers that look familiar but don’t always make sense. For one boy, however, a simple multiplication lesson turned into a moment of unexpected humor.
Little Johnny came home from school one afternoon and told his father that he had received an F in math.
Concerned, his father asked what had gone wrong.
“My teacher asked me what 3 times 2 is,” Johnny explained. “I said it was 6.”
“That’s the correct answer,” his father replied.
“I know,” the boy continued. “Then she asked me what 2 times 3 is.”
Confused, the father responded, “What’s the difference?”
Johnny looked up and said, “That’s exactly what I said.”
