Homeowner Addresses Detained Relative in Nancy Guthrie Case

Posted on 15 February 2026 By tony

A quiet neighborhood in Rio Rico, Arizona, drew sudden attention this week as police searched a home linked to the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie. Acting on a tip that she might be at a nearby residence, officers carried out a detailed search, leaving the community anxious for answers.

The homeowner, identified only as Josefina, said authorities arrived after receiving information suggesting the missing woman could be inside her house. She stated she fully cooperated and allowed officers to search the property, insisting she had nothing to hide. Josefina added that her son-in-law was detained for questioning but said she does not believe he is involved.

Investigators reportedly removed several electronic devices from the home, indicating they are reviewing possible digital evidence. Josefina said officers entered while she was away, and some family members were briefly detained before being released. She expressed sympathy for Nancy’s family and said she hopes the missing woman is found safe.

Videos showing heavy police activity, including traffic stops and searches, quickly spread across social media, fueling speculation. Authorities, however, stress the investigation remains active and ongoing, with evidence still under review. For now, residents continue to wait for clear answers as law enforcement works to determine what happened and bring closure to the concerned community.
