“That’s what happens when you tell a mother—— they have to mow a lawn,” he told the outlet. “All of a sudden they don’t want those shoes, and he was like, ‘But I always said they were tough.’ I’m like, ‘Man, you do not need $1,000 shoes.’ He’s like, ‘We have the money.’ I’m like, ‘I have the money you’re broke.’ ”
Ben Affleck Has Priceless Reaction When Son Samuel, 13, Eyes a Pair of $6,000 Dior Air Force 1s While at a Sneaker Convention
The He’s Just Not That into You actor first had this interaction with his son while the pair enjoyed a father-son outing at a sneaker convention last week. As soon as the two sneakerheads entered the convention space, Affleck’s son stopped to eye the pair of sneakers. Once the Gone Girl star saw the price, his reaction was priceless.
“That’s a lot of lawns you gotta mow there,” Affleck joked, adding that his 13-year-old son only liked the shoes because they were expensive. Samuel quickly objected, saying, “No, they’re tough! I always said they look good.”
Affleck shares his three children, Samuel, Seraphina, 16, and Violet, 19, with ex-wife actress Jennifer Garner, 52. Over the years, the former couple have worked hard to keep their kids out of the spotlight, particularly regarding paparazzi photos and social media.
Appearing on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show in April 2023, the Air star shared how he’s holding the little moments with his children close as they continue to grow older. When asked if there’s a life moment Affleck would want to live again, the actor replied, “There’s so many things, the birth of my children, all the things that I’ve done with my kids. It’s just the joy of life, it’s the heart of life.”
“These beautiful children who are innocent and loving and want to sit on your lap and hold you, and then they turn into, ‘You can close the door,’ like, ‘Oh so you don’t want to play Chutes and Ladders, I can just go?’ ” he continued with a laugh. “It’s the gift of life all those moments and I’m beginning to see now how they are fleeting but now I treasure all these little moments.”
