In recent years, however, Leno has faced serious health challenges. In November 2022, he suffered severe burns in a garage fire while working on a car, resulting in major injuries. Just two months later, he was involved in a motorcycle accident that caused multiple fractures. Despite these setbacks, Leno remained resilient. His greatest focus today is his wife, Mavis, whom he married in 1980.

The couple never had children, and Mavis, now 77, is battling dementia. In 2024, a Los Angeles court granted Leno conservatorship over her estate due to her declining condition. Doctors say she has gradually lost awareness of time and memory, yet Leno continues to care for her with deep devotion.

Leno is also preparing his estate. His $52 million vehicle collection will help form a future museum through his nonprofit foundation, while funds are set aside to ensure Mavis’ care and support loved ones. Even as he plans ahead, Leno’s legacy of humor, resilience, and passion continues to inspire.
