An elderly woman, estimated to be in her early eighties, calmly walked into a local tattoo studio one afternoon and made an unexpected announcement.
“I want to get a tattoo,” she told the artist.
Surprised but professional, the artist nodded and asked where she would like it placed.
“I actually want two,” the woman replied. “One on the inside of my left thigh, and one on the inside of my right.”
The artist hesitated, carefully explaining that those areas could be quite painful—especially given her age. He asked if she was absolutely sure.
“I know exactly what I’m asking for,” the woman said firmly. “And I don’t care how much it hurts.”
Accepting her decision, the artist reached for a book of designs. But she stopped him.
“I already know what I want,” she said. “A Christmas tree on the left thigh, and a turkey on the right.”
Trying to understand, the artist asked why she had chosen those particular images.
The woman smiled and answered without missing a beat:
“I’m tired of my husband saying there’s nothing to eat between Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
