Kathie Lee Gifford: Embracing New Beginnings and Inspiring Us All

It’s been five years since Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb made their mark as the beloved co-hosts of the “Today” show’s fourth hour. Although they are no longer on-screen together, their friendship and bond remain strong. In a recent update, Hoda Kotb shared some exciting news about what Kathie Lee has been up to.

During the “Faves and Finds” segment, Kotb introduced a new song written by Gifford called “3 Little Words.” This heartfelt song showcases Kathie Lee’s talent and passion for music. Kotb then took a moment to update viewers on Kathie Lee’s current whereabouts and activities.

“By the way, Kat is living her best life,” Kotb exclaimed. “She’s in Nashville, writing music, and enjoying every moment. She’s also spending precious time with her adorable grandkids. Kat, we love you!”

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb started their co-hosting journey on the fourth hour of the “Today” show back in 2008. Gifford continued in this role until April 2019 when she decided it was time to explore new opportunities. Jenna Bush Hager, who had frequently filled in for Gifford, ultimately became her permanent replacement.

Kathie Lee’s decision to leave the show was deeply influenced by personal circumstances. The passing of her husband in 2015 left an indelible mark on her life. She shared her perspective on life after her husband’s death during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

“After my husband passed, I realized that life is too short,” Gifford revealed to Jimmy Fallon. “He didn’t know that morning he was running out of time. And then my mom passed as well. It made me realize that I have the time and means to pursue my dreams.”

Since bidding farewell to the NBC morning show, Kathie Lee Gifford has embarked on new adventures in Nashville. This vibrant city has provided her with the space and inspiration to work on various projects close to her heart. She recently fulfilled a “dream project” by completing a book she had always aspired to write. Additionally, she cherishes her role as a doting grandmother and relishes every moment with her three grandchildren.
