ENTERTAINMENT The Boy Scouts Rebranding as Scouting America: An Inclusive Future

When many of us look back on our youth, we remember the time that we spent in the scouts. When we were younger, we had the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, but times are changing.

After more than a century of being The Boy Scouts of America, the organization has announced that it is rebranding. They will now be known as Scouting America, which is quite a change from what they had planned at first.

Recently, the organization began to welcome both girls and boys, as well as gay youths into the fold. They are also suffering from financial problems, sexual abuse allegations, and dwindling membership. As a result, they felt it was necessary to make the change.

The president and CEO of The Boy Scouts, Roger Krone gave the following announcement: “In the next 100 years, we want any youth in America to feel very, very welcome to come into our programs.”

They hope that the rebranding of the organization will lead to additional growth. They are also interested in the new generation of scouts, getting more members, and upholding their core values.

If all goes as planned, the 115th birthday of the organization, February 8, 2025, will be the day that they switch to Scouting America.

The Boy Scouts began allowing gay youth into the organization in 2013 and recently, has allowed girls into the Scouts. Since then, over 6,000 girls are now Eagle Scouts.

Many people are criticizing the organization for the name change. This includes Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.

Despite the critics, they feel that it is still necessary in these times.
