The official Christmas portrait of Donald and Melania Trump has been released, drawing attention online after some viewers suggested it may have been digitally edited. As is tradition, the White House shared a festive photograph of the president and first lady surrounded by holiday decorations. In this year’s portrait, 79-year-old Donald Trump and 55-year-old Melania Trump stand hand-in-hand inside the presidential residence, framed by Christmas trees, American flags, and the presidential seal.
The couple, married since 2005, share a son, Barron, now 19. Melania Trump oversaw the White House decorations this year, which reportedly included dozens of wreaths and trees, thousands of lights, ribbons, ornaments, and even elaborate gingerbread displays.

However, it was not the décor that sparked the most discussion. Some viewers noted Trump’s right hand, observing that the portrait appears to have been taken earlier in December, around the time the couple hosted the Kennedy Center Honors. At that event, Trump was seen wearing a bandage on the back of his hand while dressed in the same outfit as in the Christmas portrait.
In the newly released image, the bandage is no longer visible, leading some social media users to speculate that the photo may have been edited. While some questioned whether the image was altered, others dismissed the discussion as harmless holiday chatter.
The White House has not commented on the speculation surrounding the portrait.
