New data from The Economist/YouGov shows that President Donald Trump’s approval numbers have dropped steadily throughout 2025.
| Date | Approve | Disapprove | Net Approval |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apr 13–15 2025 | ~41% | ~54% | −13 |
| May 30–Jun 2 2025 | ~45% | ~49% | −4 |
| Aug 9–11 2025 | ~42% | ~54% | −12 |
| Sep 12–15 2025 | 39% | 57% | −18 |
According to YouGov and Newsweek, Trump’s approval rating in September 2025 hit one of its lowest points of his second term. The decline is driven by concerns over trade tensions, immigration policies, and ongoing clashes with the media.
Even traditional Republican strongholds are showing signs of frustration, while Trump’s strongest support remains among white and male voters.
